In Travel Matters, the Travel Agent Still Matters!

Man created technology and today technology is re-creating man’s life. Several futurists have claimed that in this man v/s machine world, more change will be happening in the next 20 years than it has in the last 300.

As an enabler, technology can make everything very convenient for us, and as a disruptor it can also make things much, much harder. It can be the travellers best friend, or make things ridiculously frustrating.

According to a Forbes article, several aggregators and online travel agencies, or OTAs in the industry lingo, are persuading the techno-savvy travellers to plan their own trips by offering unbeatable discounts and benefits making vacation planning less about gathering rich experiences and more about getting the passport bruised with multiple visa stamps.

Given the ease of access on mobile, well-targeted digital marketing and price wars between competitors, getting from point A to point B anywhere in the world has become a cake walk.

But increasingly, as several airline delays and overbooking, disruptions from strikes and storms and terrorism get reported in the news, consumers seem to be relying more on a travel agents’ network and expertise to do the crisis management.

Even though this new ‘self-planning’ trend has been picking up in the hospitality industry, but the luxury and premium segment of travellers who seek value and experience (such as our cyclist guests) still prefer the support, guidance and expertise of trusted travel consultants and trip designers.

This is where, we take stage and do our magic!

Even though this new ‘self-planning’ trend has been picking up in the hospitality industry, but the luxury and premium segment of travelers who seek value and experience (such as our cyclist guests) still prefer the support, guidance and expertise of trusted travel consultants and trip designers.

This is where, we take stage and do our magic!

Accommodation: Our trip designers curate a mix of experiential villas, heritage properties and boutique hotels/ B&Bs depending on location and availability that allow cyclists to sit back and relax after a long ride.

Meals: Our daily menu comprises authentic local cuisine made with fresh local produce of that region. In addition, based on the kind of cycling or activity involved, we ensure supply of adequate proteins and other healthy nutrients to our guests through the food we select. Moreover, we keep the preferences of our guests on priority and take any pre-informed allergy warnings or food preferences into consideration.

Safety: The routes we choose are remote, interior and countryside roads that keep our cyclists safe from speeding highways and congested city traffic. Plus, our group cycling tours are always led by certified, trained trip leaders and a qualified crew. On most tours there will be a support van with extra bicycles and spare parts and a transfer vehicle accompanying the group always.

Experiences: To provide a holistic experience our journeys are designed to include local community interactions, cultural performances, art and craft workshops, and sometimes as we ride, enjoy the pleasure of giving back to the local economy.

And thus, the travel agent has become a very important source of business again. Nobody thought it would turn out this way. While many groundbreaking technologies are shaping the future of travel, many consumers who have tried booking online are now back to using their traditional agents’ services.

Multiple studies show that technology tied millennials are the fastest growing segment of travel agency users, more than ready to turn over the time-consuming job of planning the perfect trip to experts.

Similarly, our cycling enthusiasts give us an entry in to their minds. They tell us their secret travel fantasies that are giving them sleepless nights. Some of our guests seek thrilling adventures while others seek spirituality. For some it is time for a fun-filled cycling vacation with fitness freak friends, or family and children, and for others it’s about stealing special moments with their equally enthusiastic cyclist better half (partner) on an active holiday.

For those who can dream there is no such place as ‘far away’ because our bike trip designers breathe life into those imaginary journeys by curating astounding, awe-inspiring and extra-ordinary travel experiences for our guests to the most amazing places in India.

India doesn’t disappoint those who seek newness. The country is a favourite spot for avid travellers due to its unimaginable scale of diversity, rich flora and fauna and a proud history of cultural heritage. The Map of India is a puzzle board of 29 States, each of which offers a unique blend of nature, heritage and modern development.
